HJS drive – ‘Hindus, celebrate new year on Gudhi Padva rather than on 31st December !

HJS drive receives 80% success in Khed (Dist. Ratnagiri)

Khed (Dist. Ratnagiri, Maharashtra) : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) undertook a drive in and around Khed for celebration of new year on Gudhi Padva and not on 31st December. This resulted in cancellation of programs, which would have caused damage to Dharma, at many places. This also led to reduction of noise in the town. All political parties responded very positively towards this drive. The effect of this drive could be felt even in rural areas and the most important thing was that the Hindus participated in the drive to a large extent. The drive of HJS was 80% successful, was the opinion of devout Hindus. (Congratulations to HJS for creating awareness among people towards blindly following western culture and being successful in its efforts ! It is only due to the grace of God that such small HJS is getting big success. Will the devout Hindus from other places learn from this incident and undertake spiritual practice ? – Editor SP)

Participation of workers of all parties

After the HJS members explained the matter, Mr. Satish Chikane, municipal councilor of NCP, Mr. Darekar, municipal councilor of Shiv Sena and its former councilor Mr. Balkrushna Khedekar cancelled all the programs arranged on the occasion by their respective committees. Mr. Vaibhav Khedekar of MNS also instructed his workers against celebrating 31st December. More importantly, he put up the board in the city that ‘I am a Marathi, will remain a Marathi and exchange New Year greetings only on Gudhi Padva !

Reduction in sale of meat and no. of hotel-goers

The so-called New Year’s program celebrated with much fanfare in Ainavare, Miravane and Tise villages was cancelled. A meat-seller said that the sale of meat was reduced compared to earlier years. The effect was felt even on the number of persons visiting hotels and restaurants due to the awareness created by HJS.

Responses from people

One professor said, “This year there was no noise, no bursting of crackers, no chaos of exchanging New Year greetings, no pollution or painting of walls and roads etc. There was peace everywhere due to the HJS drive.” Many people felt that if HJS creates such awareness, the damage caused to Dharma will be prevented for good. Many eminent personalities like Mr. Sunil Shinde, the President of ‘Hinduraj Mitra Mandal’ and its workers along with Mr. Kshitij Shinde, Mr. Sandip Dharia, the city-president of Congress, S/Mr. Prashant Sawant, Sandip Amburle, Sharad Surve of ‘Sree Shiva-Pratishthan’, Mr. Ravindra Jadhav from Kartel, S/Mr. Vilas Bhuvad, Nagesh Dhadave, Sandip Todkari, Anant Kambitkar of HJS participated in the above drive.
