Campaign against Mohd. Afzal: Support from more than 29,000 patriots

October 24, 2006

Mumbai: In support of the death sentence granted to Mohammad Afzal for attacking Parliament and killing innocent persons, an 'online' signature campaign and subscribing to 'e-protest letter' was started by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti on its website from 4th October. The campaign has received tremendous response and till 23rd October, more than 29,000 patriotic citizens have joined the campaign. The campaign is on the HJS' link http://www.hindujagruti.org/nation/kashmir.

The reactions received from people mostly express the views that a terrorist deserves no mercy. We are first Indians and then come religion. If he is not sentenced to death, it will demoralize our soldiers who live away from their families to protect our country. It will be a deceit against all those who at the cost of their lives patrol our boundaries. All political parties have no national interest at heart; they are only interested in power.
