Raipur (Chhattisgarh): Founder of Swadesh Movement and Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev-led Bharat Swabhiman Andolan (BSA) Secretary Rajiv Dixit died at the Apollo Hospital in steel city Bhilai in the wee hours today following a massive heart attack, BSA sources said.
Mr Dixit, a bachelor, was born in Allahabad exactly 43 years ago on this day in a family of freedom fighters.
Mr Dixit, who was touring Chhatisgarh for the last couple of days, felt breathing problem soon after he reached Bhilai after addressing three Swabhiman Janjagaran camps at Bemetra.
He breathed last at around 0130 hrs at a private hospital following cardiac arrest.
The deceased’s younger brother Pradip Dixit, who reached Bhilai last night immediately after hearing the news, said the body was brought here this afternoon, and will be flown to Haridwar by a special flight for the last rites to be performed there tomorrow morning.
In 1986, the young Indian scientist-turned-patriot, launched Swadesh Movement in India (Aazadi Bacho Andolan) and fought against several Multi-National Companies.
Mr Dixit was also the National Spokesman of Bharat Swabhiman Trust(BST).
