Coin to commemorate Veer Savarkar be minted: HJS

Mumbai: Many revolutionaries were inspired to fight for freedom of this country by the historical leap taken by Swatantryaveer Savarkar in Marseilles Port. This incident will complete a century now; therefore, in his memory, the Indian Government should mint a coin with his picture. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has written a letter to Dr. Manmohan Singh, the Prime Minister of India making the above demand.

Details of brave historical facts from life of Veer Savarkar, the significance of his leap and his photograph has been enclosed with the above letter. It has been mentioned in the letter that the present generation will be motivated by the coin minted in the memory of Veer Savarkar and it will help to generate love and respect for the nation among them.
