Pakistan should render apology for the atrocities is the demand made by not India but by Bangla Desh. In the famous war of 1971, Pakistani army oppressed innocent citizens of Bangla Desh. It will be very mild to call as atrocities whatever Pakistani army does under the name of Islam to others. They cross all human limits of cruelty, obscenity, indecency and overall humanity. All concepts of decency start trembling before the Pakistani mentality. Muslims from Bangla Desh, although followers of Islam, were not ready to leave behind their Bengali background to merge with Punjabi culture; therefore, Punjabi Pakistan felt that they were not fit to live and they undertook a program of their eradication.

In these atrocities, Pakistani oppressed Bengali Muslims but more than that, they tortured Bengali Hindus. That time, India wedged war against Pakistan under the guidance of Indira Gandhi and leadership of Field Marshall Maneckshaw. India defeated Pakistan and got freedom for Bangla Desh. In the year 1947, Muslims wanted to separate from Hindus when Indian rulers solved the problem of Muslims’ freedom without paying any heed to what Hindus thought. Thereafter, Bengali Muslims wanted freedom from Punjabi Muslims for which India fought a war. India had nearly 90,000 Pakistani soldiers as prisoners of war; but India sent them back with respect without demanding anything in return. This war, although India has forgotten; Bangla Desh has not. Two years back, when Shaikh Hasina’s Government was established, the external affairs ministers of both the countries are meeting for the first time to improve their relations. The talks will be held in Islamabad. Bangla Desh is not ready to leave its demand that Pakistan should render apology for atrocities meted out to its citizens in 1971. Whether Pakistan will show such magnanimity will be seen shortly; but India has a lot to learn from this incident. Congress, the biggest party in freedom fight passed a resolution and gifted Pakistan to Muslims so there was no need for Muslims to tread on the path of violence; even then, at the time of partition, they brutally oppressed Hindus, killed Hindus; cast such sinful eye on Hindu women which nobody must have done ever. Hindus will never forget that treatment to their women and oppression meted out to them; therefore, Pakistan should render apology to India for mercy and to lessen their punishment. Bangla Desh was freed by India; she was helped in her new formation; but she did not remain grateful to India. The Hindus living there had to face similar atrocities from Bengali Muslims because they were Hindus. All contracts entered into by Bangla Desh in 1971 with India have been broken; therefore, Bangla Desh should render apology to India and Hindus and in the end, India should also render apology to Hindus because India fought a war for the welfare of Muslims in Bangla Desh; but Hindus were driven out of Kashmir and their women were molested. Indian Government, however, did not show the decency of even conducting an enquiry. Now the days of tolerating injustice are over. The Court has also now accepted that this country is of Rama. Hindus should, therefore, give an apt answer. They should insist that apology should be rendered by all those who oppressed Hindus earlier. It should be the pre-condition of peaceful so-existence.
