Pope says “God sees in everyone a soul to save”, but Hindus find “God in all creatures”

God excludes no one, neither the poor nor the rich; His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI reportedly stated in an address in Vatican City on October 31.

Pope (as per Zenit translation) reportedly further said: God does not let himself be conditioned by our human prejudices, but sees in everyone a soul to save and is especially attracted to those who are judged as lost and who think themselves so.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that ancient Hindu scripture Shvetashvatara Upanishad describes God as – eternal Reality, changeless amidst the changing, infinite, omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient, cause of the cosmos, source of all powers of life, protector of all, light that shines forever, inner Self, who sees-hears-pervades everything, master and sole support of the universe, without beginning or end, supreme magician and architect, bestower of all blessings, ruler of all creatures from within, supreme source of all religions, pure consciousness, beyond time and space, cause without a cause, hidden in every heart, grants all our prayers, bridge from death to immortality, etc.

Quoting Shvetashvatara Upanishad, Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, added—World is the river of God, flowing from him and flowing back to him. Dedicate yourself to him and he will free you from the bondage of karma. Those who realize him go beyond death.

Pope Benedict heads the Roman Catholic Church, which is the largest of the Christian denominations. Hinduism, oldest and third largest religion of the world, has about one billion adherents and moksh (liberation) is its ultimate goal.
