Mumbai: Temples are the pillars of support of Dharma. In a meeting held at Vashi Arya Samaj at Navi Mumbai, it was resolved by the trustees of various temples in Navi Mumbai to unite for protection of temples. Mr. Ravindran Mannanur of Kerala Mandir Paripalan Samiti first explained the purpose of the meeting and said that it was necessary to unite like followers of other religions. He also said that the proposed laws for taking over management of the temples by the Government and anti-superstitions should be opposed. Advocate Subhash Nalawade said that we should become perceptive towards matters related to Dharma. The places of worship of followers of other religions are not destroyed because they are united but that is not the case with Hindus. Laws are passed for protection of minorities but majority population is neglected. I have devoted my life for ‘Dharmakarya’ and if all of us do not unite in time, we will become minority within 10 years, he said.

Ajitpal Singh from Vashi Gurudwara said that temples were destroyed before independence; but it is surprising that even now, after independence, there is no change in the position. He said that Sikhs will extend help for protection of temples. Mr. Shivaji Vatkar of HJS and Mr. Marathe of Swaminarayan Mandir were also present on the occasion.

Next meeting will be held at Zulelal Temple, near Sarsole Bus Depot, Sector 12, Nerul Phase II, Navi Mumbai at 5.00 p.m. Mr. Ramesh Sanil may be contacted on 9320902590 for more information.
