During Dipavali period the arrival of the flows of Chaitanya containing the Absolute Fire (Tej), Water (Apa) and Air (Vayu) element is in higher proportion from the Universe. During this period the sensitiveness of the body to absorb Chaitanya is increased by applying ubatana on the body through its components.

On Dhanatrayodashi the tama-dominant Energy frequencies and tama-dominant frequencies of Water Principle are active in higher proportion. These frequencies are responsible for the untimely death of a person. The lamp made of wheat flour has the ability to pacify these frequencies.

देवीकी उपासनामें कुमकुमार्चनका महत्वपूर्ण स्थान है । देवीपूजन अंतर्गत आंचलभराई की विधि की जाती है । आंचलभराई अर्थात् देवीको साडी, चोली-वस्त्र और नारियल अर्पण कर, देवीपूजन संपन्न करना ।

नवरात्रिमें अखंड दीपप्रज्वलनके साथ कुलाचारानुसार मालाबंधन करते हैं । कुछ उपासक स्थापित घटपर माला चढाते हैं, तो कुछ देवीकी मूर्तिपर माला चढ़ाते हैं ।

नवरात्रिके प्रथम दिन घटस्थापना करते हैं । घटस्थापना करना अर्थात नवरात्रिकी कालावधिमें ब्रह्मांडमें कार्यरत शक्तितत्त्वका घटमें आवाहन कर उसे कार्यरत करना । कार्यरत शक्तितत्त्वके कारण वास्तुमें विद्यमान कष्टदायक तरंगें समूल नष्ट हो जाती हैं।

नवरात्रिमें विभिन्न प्रांतोंमें किए जानेवाले धार्मिक कार्यक्रमों का एक महत्त्वपूर्ण विधि है, गरबा । नवरात्रों में गुजरात में मातृशक्ति के प्रतीक अनेक छिद्रों वाले मिट्टी के कलश में रखे दीपक का पूजन करते हैं । यह `दीपगर्भ' स्त्री की सृजनशक्ति का प्रतीक है । इस मान्यतासे नौ दिन `दीपगर्भ' पूजा जाता है ।

नवरात्रिकी कालावधिमें देवीपूजनके साथ उपासनास्वरूप देवीके स्तोत्र, सहस्रनाम, देवीमाहात्म्य इत्यादि के यथाशक्ति पाठ और पाठसमाप्तिके दिन विशेष रूपसे हवन करते हैं । श्री दुर्गाजीका एक नाम 'चंडी' भी है ।

नवरात्रीके विविध तिथीयोंका महत्त्व तथा जागरण करनेका शास्त्रीय आधार

आश्विन शुक्ल दशमीकी तिथिपर दशहरा मनाते हैं । दशहरेके पूर्वके नौ दिनोंमें अर्थात नवरात्रिकालमें दसों दिशाएं देवीमांकी शक्तिसे आवेशित होती हैं ।

नवरात्री: घट स्थापना, अखंडदीप तथा देवता स्थापना (हिंदी)

मां शक्तिके प्रति कृतज्ञता व्यक्त कर आवाहित शक्तितत्त्वको उनके मूल स्थानपर विराजमान होनेकी विनती करनेका दिन है महानवमी । इस दिन वेदीपर स्थापित घट एवं नवार्णव यंत्रपर स्थापित देवी का विशेष पूजन कर उनका विसर्जन करते हैं ।

आश्विन मास कहते ही स्मरण होता है, हिंदुओंद्वारा मनाया जानेवाला एक महत्त्वपूर्ण एवं सबका उत्साह वर्धित करनेवाले व्रत एवं उत्सव, त्यौहार दुर्गापूजाका अर्थात नवरात्रिका, महिषासुर मर्दिनी मां दुर्गाका ।
