Introduction
to Mrs. Anjali Gadgil: Mrs. Anjali Mukul Gadgil (34) a science postgraduate,
commenced spiritual practice under the guidance of the Sanatan Sanstha
in June 2000. Since September 2000 she has devoted all her time in rendering
service at the Sanatan ashram at Pondâ, Goa. Then, she undertook
spiritual practice through the medium of music under the guidance of His
Holiness Dr. Jayant Athavale, founder of Sanatan Sanstha. She worked in
the 'subtle section' of the Sanstha in 2001. Later she looked after the
'ego eradication section'. She has been receiving Divine knowledge from
the Guru principal since 28th October 2003. Some other seekers of the
Sanatan Sanstha are also receiving Divine knowledge from God. This knowledge
ranges from a simple question like, 'What is the most spiritually beneficial
way of cooking rice' to complex questions like 'How was the Universe created',
'What is the composition of the God principle'.
According to Hindu Dharma, performing 'Garba' means devotion filled singing of hymns praising the Goddess in the combination of rhythmic clapping. Performing 'Garba' means' awakening Sree Durgadevi from meditation through the medium of the manifest spiritual practice of rhythmic clapping, and appealing her to assume the destructive form for the activity of the Universe.
The destructive form of the Goddess being awakened through the frequencies of desire (Ichcha), action (Kriya) and knowledge (Dnyan) in the forms of Bramha, Vishnu and Shiva, by the musical rhythm of three clap
In Navaratri through various artistic skills, the destructive principle of Goddess Durga is awakened. Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh are the three main skills of God. To awaken the destructive form of the Goddess at the level of these three skills, by clapping three times her energy in the form of desire (Sankalp) energy gets activated; hence it is more desirous and fruitful to praise the Goddess through the three clapped rhythmic movement. The meaning of the three claps is as follows:
1. The first clap is related to Brahma that is the
'Iccha' (desire) energy. As a result the 'Iccha' (desire) energy of Brahma in the Universe gets awakened and gives approval to the
embodied soul's wishes in the mind according to his spiritual emotion.
2. Through the medium of the second clap the Vishnu form 'Kriya' (activity) waves give energy to the embodied soul for the act to occur.
3. Through the medium of the third clap the Shiv form 'Dnyan' (Knowledge) waves bring about actual act and from its result give the desired fruits
to the embodied soul. As from the combination of the three clap there
is utterance of the resolve energy of the God's Divine Kingdom thrice,
that resolve gets achieved.
Through the striking of the clap, as there is generation of fire element it is possible to awaken the destructive form of God. The act of clapping is symbolic of the worship of the fire element. The singing of the devotion filled hymns appealing to the Goddess moving around in circle while clapping helps in arousal of the spiritual emotion towards the Goddess. - (The knowledge received by Mrs. Anjali Gadgil from God, 05-10-2005, 12.47 p.m.) Performing 'Garba' in circle (mandal) symbolizes an earthen pot (ghat).
