Dear Sir,
I joined Hindu Janajagruti Samiti to strongly condemn the derogatory
painting of lord Ganesh displayed at Frankfurt Book Fair 2006 organised
by you.
Reference: http://www.hindujagruti.org/denigrations/successful/index.php?id=17
The picture is of Lord Ganesha who is standing on structure like keyboard
with eight hands and with items like a laptop computer, CD, floppy,
mouse, dish antenna etc in his hands. This is a very disgusting denigration
of Lord Ganesha which has hurt our religious sentiments very baldy and
caused disrespect to Lord Ganesha.
The use of God for commercial event like a book fair that too in a distorted
manner is very highly objectionable. In the Hindu religious text of
Atharvashirsh Lord Ganesha is described as one with four hands with
weapons like paash, ankush, and sweets (modak) in his hands. By this
act of yours you have also distorted and denigrated Lord Ganesha which
has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus.
I demand the immediate removal of this picture of Lord Ganesha from
the exhibition and an unconditional apology to Hindus for hurting of
the religious sentiments through this distortion, denigration and commercial
use of Lord Ganesha.
