Andrew Symonds portrayed as Lord Hanuman

HJS submits more than 8,000 protest letters to the Australian Embassy

Mumbai - The Australian daily 'Courier Mail' has portrayed cricketer Andrew Symonds as Lord Hanuman, thereby denigrating the beloved deity of crores of Hindus. This denigrating picture available on the website edition of Daily 'Courier Mail' is titled as 'Symonds is just divine; That's no monkey'. The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has launched an on-line protest campaign on its site www.hindujagruti.org against the said daily with regard to this denigration. In response to this campaign, more than 8,000 people have registered their protest by sending protest mails to the concerned daily in a span of just 1.5 hours.

HJS' well-known website has made an application and an e-protest letter for the convenience of those who want to participate in this protest campaign. As soon as the protestor feeds in his name and email address, an e-protest letter is delivered to the Editor of the 'Courier Mail' and the Australian and Indian embassies through the HJS' website. In this regard, the HJS has demanded that the said daily immediately withdraw the denigrating picture from its website and other periodicals and tender an unconditional public apology to the Hindu community. The HJS has appealed to all Hindus to register their protest in this regard and fulfill their duty to Hindu Dharma.
