I dont understand why any muslim should object to it...giving regards to one's country ..how can that be anti Islam.
Islam doesnt say not to love the country you are born in ...it is more of political weakness and not understanding the correct meaning of "Vande Mataram".I agree with the comments of Kishorkant. We need to understand the right meaning and spread awareness on same rather than making it a religious issue.

You made my day with this email ON Vande Matram .There are many like me know nothing about Vande Matram.
Our govt and media need to educate our masses on these issues.
Looks like Hindus need to wake up .Our rich and educators need to take responsibility as they will pay the heavy price when enemy takes over.

So for Islamic objection to "Vande Mataram" is concerned, I suppose they assume that 'Vande' means to bow in reverence before some entity; which is not possible for staunch Muslim to accept. "Vande" is actually misinterpreted by scholars. Actually 'Vande' is the antonym of 'Ninde' i.e. to censure, condemn or reprimand and hence 'Vande' should be defined as 'praise', 'commend', applaud, 'herald', 'greet' 'cheer' etc. If some Sanskrit scholar elucidate it properly.
